Banh Mi is really a sandwich. It came about during the French colonialism period in Vietnam, and combines French and Vietnamese ingredients. The sandwich from Pho Viet is served on a french baguette and is filled with hot peppers (yum! but be careful it is really spicy!) cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, mayo, and a meat of your choice. I got the grilled pork. They also have chicken, tofu, & beef.
Here's my sandwich, it was soooo good. Unfortunately, I couldn't resist getting an iced green tea from Lollicup which at $4 totally negated my efforts to save money. Arghk :(

Best Banh Mi's in Boston! The rest of the food is pretty decent too. There's a curry beef noodle pho that I like (it's very greasy though). They also serve the usual Vietnamese dishes.
