Brookline Family Restaurant - It's Really Turkish

Brookline Family Restaurant on Chompster

This is kind of a continuation of the previous post. After dinner at Sichuan Garden we decided to drop by Brookline Family Restaurant to get dessert to go. Brookline Family Restaurant is right next door to Sichuan Garden.

They have a wonderful assortment of Baklavas!

We got an order of pistachio baklavas, and rice pudding. The baklavas were delicious and so was the rice pudding which was lightly burnt on the surface. It went really well with the dessert wine we had at home.

I was actually debating between the rice pudding and the kazandibi which I had the last time. Ended up going with the rice pudding since I wanted to try something different. I was't dissapointed but am still dreaming of the Kazandibi. Kazandibi is "upside down milk pudding". It has a much thicker texture than rice pudding and is soooo good. I highly recommend it!

Great home cooked turkish food in Boston. Fantastic desserts too. We've been here several times already, enough said!

hi kate: he's a lucky guy!

agree that meze is over rated and over priced (mho). our greek dry cleaner also recommended dionysos on memorial drive and desfina (also in cambridge). i prefer Desfina ... no frills and great lamb!

samovar used to be cafe st. petersburg. I haven't been there (samovar) since they changed ownership ... but from past experience, the food there is amazing! Definitely get the boscht and kholodetz. I also liked the dumplings (pelimini) . Oh and of course the beluga caviar if you're feeling spendy :D

ps. have you tried the baklava at Athans? they have a huge selection too but I'm always distracted by the cakes and gelato :(

long post ...now you've really got me talking! lol

yeah the cookies didn't look so appealing for some reason :p

Cafe St. Petersburg actually moved to Newton Center. We've tried it once but it didn't seem to be as good as when it was in brookline. maybe it was the ambience ... too modern unlike the cozy ecletic atmosphere of their original brookline space.

I've never heard of stoli bar before! let me know how the food is once you've been :)
